Maroon 5 celebrates female empowerment
Maroon 5 continues to celebrate female empowerment with their hit song “Girls Like You.”
The band has tapped a group of female musicians to remix the song, which also features rapper Cardi B. You can now listen to the remix done by singer, songwriter and guitarist Annie Clarke, who records under the name St. Vincent. Maroon 5 commissioned four different remixes of “Girls Like You.” Wondagurl, Tokimonsta and Cray are responsible for the other three.
Maroon 5 and their record label, Interscope, are also making a charitable donation to the Malala Fund. Established by activist Malala Yousafzai, the fund works to remove the barriers that prevent more than 130 million girls around the world from going to school.
The original video for “Girls Like You” features guest appearances by a number of famous females, including Ellen DeGeneres, gymnast Aly Raisman, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot and Jennifer Lopez.
