Storm cool Heat in game one of Birks final

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Storm have taken a 1-0 lead in the KIJHL Birks Division final.    Evan Walls second goal of the game with 4:48 left in the second overtime lifted the Storm to a 5-4 win over the Chase Heat.

Chase took a 3-0 lead in the first period before the Storm outscored the Heat 4-1 in the second to tie the game at four.

The Heat had two power plays in the second overtime but could’nt get the puck past Kolby Pauwels, who stopped 30 of 31 shots after replacing Jason Sandhu following the first period.

Nic Bruyere was good on 31 of 36 in the Chase net.
