Sun Peaks opens for 2017 with new food and beverage options
SUN PEAKS, BC — For skiers and snowboarders, it’s better than Christmas. Opening Day 2017 at Sun Peaks was Saturday, officially kicking off the winter season at the Mountain Resort. If the beginning of this season is any indication, those visiting Sun Peaks are in for a great year on the slopes.
Hundreds of skiers and boarders turned up at Sun Peaks Resort Saturday morning to officially kick off the 2017 season at the mountain. They were greeted with some of the best opening day conditions in recent memory.
“We have all three mountains open, every chairlift running with the exception of the Burfield, and lots of happy people, lots of happy faces,” Sun Peaks Chief Marketing Officer Aidan Kelly explained on Saturday. “Everyone’s excited to kick off winter.”
Along with the great early season snow, Sun Peaks was also celebrating their new and improved food and beverage service, located in what used to be called Bento’s Day Lodge, which is now the Annex.
