Brad Pitt’s Meaningful Support

The break in hostilities is officially over! Brad Pitt‘s lawyers have responded to Angelie Jolie‘s lawyers’ claims that the 54-year-old has failed to contribute “meaningful” financial support for their six children since their September 2016 split.

In a new court filing snagged by TMZ, Pitt’s team says he loaned her $8 million so she could move into her current home and has shelled out $1.3 million in child support. They also call her deadbeat dad claim “a thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage.”

A spokesperson told People of Jolie’s filing on Tuesday that it was done to provide “closure to the marriage in a way that clears a path toward the next stage of their lives and allows her and Brad to recommit as devoted co-parents to their children.”

FAST FACTS:

  • Jolie, 43, and Pitt have six children together: Maddox, 16; Pax, 14; Zahara, 13; Shiloh, 12; and 10-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
  • They met in 2003 when they costarred in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They married in 2014.
  • In June, a judge hammered out a visitation schedule so Pitt could spend more time with his kids after the pair failed to reach an agreement.
