Pilot’s Emerg Contact
A pilot who was killed in a crash in 2013 reportedly listed Taylor Swift as his emergency contact.
Michael Callan, 45, was obsessed with Swift and wrote her numerous letters that were said to “have the flavor [of] stalking,” WSMV-TV reported, citing NTSB internal records. In 2012, Callan underwent a mental health evaluation.
Callan was legally drunk when he tried to land a small plane at Nashville International Airport amid dense fog, the National Transportation Safety Board determined. Callan was the only person on the plane at the time of the crash. The plane, a Cessna 172R was said to have burst into flames when it crashed. Callan was reportedly supposed to travel to Pelee Island Airport in Ontario, Canada, but instead flew to Nashville.
The Canadian pilot also listed Swift as his emergency contact on his membership application to the Windsor Flying Club, where he rented the plane.
