WolfPack beat Calgary, lose to Okanagan, 2-2 going into Saturday
KAMLOOPS – After starting 1-1 on Thursday, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team did the same thing on Friday. They beat the University of Calgary Dinos in the morning 9-2 but lost 3-0 to the Okanagan College Coyotes.
Dillon Ferguson (Kirkland, WA) was spectacular in game one, getting the win as he threw a complete game. He allowed two runs (both unearned) on four hits while striking out 14 batters.
Cole Paquin (Regina, SK) had a big game, going 2-2 with a double and four RBIs. Liam Rihela (White Rock, BC) went 1-3 with two RBIs. Kyron Smith (Maple Ridge, BC) finished 2-2 with a double and a run scored. Josiah Williams (Cloverdale, BC) went 1-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Josh Snider (Moses Lake, WA) drove in a run, going 2-3. Adam Filmon (Winnipeg, MB) collected a RBI on a bases-loaded walk. Vance Fode (Bow Island, AB) and Matt Pidlisecky (Abbotsford, BC) each had a base hit.
Left-hander Scott Wood (Stratford, ON) started against the Okanagan College and pitched very well for the ‘Pack, despite suffering the loss. He threw seven innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks. Cole Paquin threw one shutout inning. They each struck out two batters.
