Suspicious man on bike sought by police

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are investigating “a suspicious occurrence” involving two boys and a man.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says it occured Monday night when two 11 year old boys were riding their bikes on Parkcrest Avenue when an unknown male on a bike approached them and asked if they wanted to go for a ride.

“The boys quickly rode away and contacted a guardian who then contacted the police. Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the male.”

The suspect is described as:

• White
• Approximately 30 years old
• Bald, wearing a brown ball cap, blue t-shirt and tan/brown shorts
• He was riding a brown and grey mountain bike

“At this time Kamloops RCMP cannot say if this occurrence is suspicious or not, but they advise parents to talk to their children about potential dangerous situations and what they should do,” Shelkie says, adding the boys did exactly what they should have.

“They recognized that this was suspcious, then rode away from the man and contacted an adult.”
