KAMLOOPS — A note on the Thompson Rivers University website suggests there may be a breakdown in the negotiations between the university and its faculty association.
The note announces the mediator between the two sides is recommending ratification of an agreement.
A bargaining update states the two sides have been in mediation yesterday and today, but does not mention any details of a potential agreement.
The mediator has also requested both sides maintain the media blackout that has been in effect since mediation began three weeks ago.
A note on the TRUFA website suggests the two sides remain far apart.
That message says “mediation has failed.”
It says the parties were note able to reach a negotiated settlement, and reports the mediator has made independent recommendations, which TRUFA’s executive will bring to its membership on Tuesday.
