AMMAN, Jordan — Deanne Rose scored for Canada in a 1-1 draw with Germany on Monday at the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup.

Rose scored in the 21st minute to give Canada a 1-0 lead.

Germany levelled on the last play of the first half as Giulia Gwinn’s free kick beat Canadian ‘keeper Lysianne Proulx.

“It was a very tough game, but we are happy to come out of it with a draw,” said Canaca coach Bev Humphries-Priestman. “We would have loved three points, but I think the reality of the physical difference between our young players and Germany’s more mature side means a draw was a good result.”
