Thick smoke returns to Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Thick smoke has returned to Kamloops.

The BC Wildfire Service says the smoke is from the Elephant Hill wildfire burning south of Highway 24.

In an online statement fire officials says the wind shifted direction Saturday night.

Wind speeds also reached up to 40 kilometres an hour in some areas of the Kamloops Fire Centre bringing in the heavy smoke quickly.
