Weather could help crews begin to win the war on Elephant Hill wildfire
GREEN LAKE, B.C. — Mother Nature is giving firefighters a chance to begin to stomp out the Elephant Hill wildfire.
Cooler temperatures and sporatic rain is forecast throughout the Cariboo region this weekend.
Information Officer Noelle Kekula calls the forecast prime firefighting weather.
“It has cooled a lot in the last few days,” said Kekula. “Right now, we’re only seeing Rank 1 and Rank 2 fire behaviour. That means firefighters can really focus on strengthening that control line as opposed to always trying to predict where the head of the fire is going to take off again.”
