KAMLOOPS — Kamloops shoppers can expect to see miniature houses popping up at retail locations across the city as the B100 Toy Houses campaign kicked off Monday (Nov. 26).

The toy houses are set up in six locations around Kamloops. People are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys and gifts for youth, which will help stock the shelves at Christmas Amalgamated.

The local charity provides Christmas gifts and food donations during the holidays.

“Christmas Amalgamated does so much for our community, helping out those most needy in our community,” said B100 morning show co-host Rich Woods. “Really, these toys will go towards next year’s supply. Some of the toys from this year will go to families this year, most are going towards next year’s families. It’s so important for us to help support them.”

Gifts for teenaged boys are the most needed.

There are a little more than three weeks to drop off gifts into the toy houses.

“Our pick-up date this year is going to be Dec. 19,” Woods said. “We will start at 10:00 a.m. in the morning at the Aberdeen Canadian Tire, then we’ll work our way through our five other locations. So, that’s here at Aberdeen Mall, Save On Foods in Sahali, also the Sahali Mall, Northills Mall, and then finally Kamloops Ford Lincoln.”
