New details released into Anglemont murder-suicide

ANGLEMONT, B.C. — A coroner’s report into a Shuswap murder-suicide three years ago says there were no clues predicting the acts of violence.

On April 30th, 2013, 15 year old Christian Tallick used a machete to kill his stepmother, 45 year old Tracy Lynn Nichol, before using her handgun to kill himself.

According to Coroner Margaret Janzen, Christian had recently come to the Anglemont home to live with his father and stepmother.

The report states he had become involved in illicit drugs at his home in Calgary, AB, and had wanted to get away from that lifestyle.

But the report also states Christian had known Nichol for most of his life, and there was no known conflict between the two.

Janzen goes on to say Christian had no known medical or mental health issues.
