KAMLOOPS — A few new arrivals at the BC Wildlife Park have been settling in this weekend.
The park recently acquired a new wolf pack from Quebec.
“We’ve been in the market looking for some wolves for quite a while, and it worked out great that they could be transferred to our facility,” park general manager Glenn Grant said.

“There’s two males and one female, brothers and sisters. They’re about a year and a half old, maybe 18, 19 months old.”
The wolves were born in captivity and were surplus animals at their previous home.
Grant says they’ve also brought in a unique-looking rodent, called the Patagonian mara.
“They are an interesting rodent. It’s a larger, in the rodent family, but it is a larger animal. Some people think it’s cute, some people think it’s funny looking. It’s kind of interesting, kind of a rabbit face and kangaroo hind legs.”
The Patagonian maras have been living in their new habitat between the raccoon and the bobcat enclosures since Saturday morning.
