The Wedding of the Year Has Started!

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas kicked off their wedding festivities Wednesday. The pair were spotted wearing traditional Indian garb before their Puja ceremony Wednesday held at Priyanka’s home in Mumbai.

Puja ceremonies involve invocations, prayers, songs and rituals, and are one of the most important and sacred ceremonies in Indian culture. The official wedding will take place at one of the last standing palaces in India. After days of celebrations and rituals, they will exchange their vows at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur on December 2^nd. A Christian ceremony will follow the next day.

Several members of Nick’s family, including his brother Joe and Joe’s fianc Sophie Turner flew in ahead of the ceremony and were spotted out celebrating.

FAST FACTS:

Four months ago, Nick proposed to Priyanka with a $200K engagement ring.
The 36-year-old Priyanka rose to fame in Hollywood after competing in and winning the 2000 Miss World pageant. She eventually dropped out of college to pursue acting fulltime, making her Bollywood debut in 2003’s The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. It went on to become the third-highest grossing Bollywood film that year.
In 2013, she became the new face of Guess. Eventually, she landed a starring role in ABC‘s Quantico.
The 26-year-old Nick rose to fame as a member of the Jonas Brothers. While they eventually broke up, Nick has gone on to enjoy a successful solo career. He also co-founded Safehouse Records, in conjunction with Island Records and Hollywood Records.
