Police recover body of missing jet skier

KAMLOOPS — The body of the jet skier who went missing in July on a local waterway was discovered over the long weekend.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the discovery was made on Sept. 2 in the South Thompson River near Grand Boulevard.

“It was discovered by a passerby, somebody who was out on their boat on the river.”

The man, whose name has not been released, went missing after his jet ski collided with another jet skier on July 29 on the South Thompson River near Valleyview.

Shelkie says the file has been handed over to the BC Coroners Service.
