KAMLOOPS — If you’re looking to take in some evening entertainment with the whole family, look no further than Prince Charles Park, where Project ‘X’ Theatre begins performances next week.

This year, Project ‘X’ is featuring two different shows, including the magical and timeless ‘Wizard of Oz’. Join Dorothy and her dog Toto, as they’re whisked away to the enchanting land of Oz, where they meet with the Tin Man, Scarecrow and the Lion. It’s a story for the whole family. Fairy tales come to life through several Robert Munsch stories as well, including The Paper Bag Princess, The Fire Station, David’s Father, and more. ‘Munsch Upon a Time’ is for both the young and old.

“Oz is for the whole family, and Munsch is aimed at a little younger, but it’s more about length, Munsch is shorter so for those young kids sitting still for just over an hour is more manageable, but we’re really excited that families have responded to X-Fest and we’re happy to give them what they want,” says Dusan Magdolen, General Manger & Producer of Project ‘X’ Theatre.

“It’s really fun to play something meak, it’s really fun to play something that’s afraid of everybody else on stage, it’s really physically demanding because you run from everything all the time, but I really enjoy it,” says Wyatt Purcha who plays the Lion in The Wizard of Oz.

Project ‘X’ Theatre runs from July 11th to 30th at Prince Charles Park, with the performances alternating each evening. For a complete schedule of showtimes, visit www.projectxtheatre.ca
