Kamloops woman wins $1M in Lotto 6/49 draw

KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops woman has a million reasons to be happy.

The BC Lottery Corporation says Sherry Edwards has won the $1 million guaranteed prize on the Sept. 1 Lotto 6/49 draw.

“I checked the numbers three times online before realizing I had won,” she says, who upon learning she’d won, immediately called her son with the news. “He didn’t believe me, until I sent him a picture. We were so excited.”

She says she plans to use her winnings on a number of things, including setting up an education fund for her grandchildren, purchasing a truck, taking an Alaskan cruise and adopting more dogs.
