Home Hardware Kamloops gives United Way’s Days of Caring a big boost
KAMLOOPS — Home Hardware Kamloops is stepping up in a big way, partnering up with United Way Thompson Nicola Cariboo, and taking the lead on the Days of Caring initiative.
The new sponsorship kicked off this morning at the Family Tree Family Centre downtown, where Home Hardware employees rolled up their sleeves to remove hedges and build a fence in the front yard of the organization. This project has been on the centre’s wish list for years, and will provide a protected area for children to safely play.
“We have lots of kids that are coming in and out all the time, and having a fence gives us that extra barrier and it’s going to make a huge difference for us to keep them safe, and make sure they don’t run out into the street, says Susan Wright, executive director of Family Tree Family Centre. “The second part of that is we had hedges there before that gathered a lot of miscellaneous items that could be a little bit dangerous cleaning up and certainly dangerous for kids.”
