MONACO — The Herculis Diamond League track meet in Monaco will go ahead as planned Friday in the wake of the attack in nearby Nice that killed at least 84 people.
Organizers say the event at Stade Louis II — which has a capacity of about 18,500 spectators — was given the go-ahead after consultation between the Monegasque Athletics Federation and Prince Albert of Monaco.
Organizers say “a tribute” to the victims will take place.
Monaco is approximately 21 kilometres from Nice and the meet is the ninth of 14 Diamond League events this year.
