KAMLOOPS — It’s a special day for one Kamloops woman, who has been very busy of late.

Melissa Klassen — whose husband Chad is one of our reporters — graduated today from School of Nursing at TRU, just eight days after giving birth to the couple’s baby.

Violet Grace was born just last Wednesday, and today she attended her first graduation ceremony.

Her mom Melissa held Violet in her arms as she walked across the stage at Thompson Rivers University to accept her Bachelors of Science in nursing degree.

Melissa decided to make Violet a part of the occasion, accepting her degree with Violet in her arms.

A huge congratulations to this new mom for completing her education at such a busy time in her life.

Violet may not remember today’s milestone event, but her parents can show her this video in a few years to prove she was there!
