Meghan Markle’s Silenced?

Meghan Markle is dying to speak her truth, but royal etiquette won’t let her. She has spent the past year getting dragged in the press for real and possibly imagined offenses, from her father outlandish behavior to the “feud” she reportedly instigated with sister in law Kate Middleton.

In public, she has maintained equilibrium and silence, only issuing one statement to the press about her father, when backed out of her May wedding to Prince Harry. In January, Meghan deleted all of her social media accounts, per royal requirements.

“It’s just been frustrating and stressful to have no voice,” a royal insider told Us Weekly. “She’s always relied on her own voice to stand up for others, and for herself. So not being able to say anything is a debilitating feeling. She’s always been so independent, her entire life, and that’s all been taken away from her. She’s always been able to clap back on social media and now she can’t.”

NEVER SPEAKING TO FATHER AGAIN

Us Weekly also reports that Meghan has no plans to speak with her father again.

Another insider says that the 37-year-old has “moved on” from her dad. “The best thing he could have done since the day it fell apart would be to go away, and stay silent and he’s done everything but,” the second insider says. “There is no relationship change. Any other interviews are just an eye roll.”

CHRISTMAS ALONE?

Meanwhile, as Meghan adjusts to the royal rules regarding public discourse, she may be adjusting to some new traditions in private too. The latest speculation has Meghan spending Christmas morning alone.

She and Harry are headed to Sandringham to spend Christmas with the Queen, Prince William and Kate, but “tradition” stipulates that women eat breakfast solo in their bedrooms while men dine downstairs.

“On Christmas Day, the ladies generally opt for a light breakfast of sliced fruit, half a grapefruit, toast and coffee delivered to their rooms,” former royal chef Darren McGrady wrote in an article for The Daily Mail, adding that the men eat a heartier meal of “eggs, bacon and mushrooms, kippers, and grilled kidneys.”
