KAMLOOPS — May was a strong month for job growth in Kamloops.
Statistics Canada Labour Market Analyst Vincent Ferrao says almost 70,000 people were employed last month, compared to 59,000 in May 2017.
He says there was also around 1,500 fewer people looking for work (4,400) year-over-year dropping the unemployment rate to 5.9 per cent.
That compares to 9.1 per cent in May 2017 and 8.8 per cent in April 2018.
