Pitbull’s Aquaman Track: Listen Here

“Ocean to Ocean,” a song featured on the Aquaman soundtrack, includes music and lyrics from Toto’s 1980s anthem “Africa.”

The up-tempo rap and dance song by Pitbull featuring Rhea has garnered over 1 million hits since it was posted on YouTube Thursday against the backdrop of a poster from the movie. “#Aquaman #Africa #Pitbull,” the 2 1/2-minute song is captioned.

The film starring Jason Momoa as the titular superhero is set for release December 21st. In the movie, the song plays during a scene where Aquaman crosses the Sahara Desert.

Earlier this year, Weezer scored a huge hit with their version of “Africa.”

Pitbull explained why his version of the tune is called “Ocean to Ocean.” “The ocean, the sea and any body of water, to me, is true freedom,” says Mr. Worldwide. “The ocean has always been the border from where my parents came from Cuba and the United States, which gives us freedom. That’s why I respect water. Bottom line: water gives us freedom.”
