Kamloops produces record advanced voter turnout
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops voters turned out in record numbers to cast their ballots early for the upcoming municipal election.
The City’s Chief Election Officer, Scott Redgrove says 1,860 voters came out yesterday for the third and final advance voting day in the civic election.
“The previous record was about 1,500,” Redgrove says, “and our total for advanced this time around was 3,097, so we’re a little more than 500 over what we’ve been in the past for advanced voting.”
Of the total population in Kamloops, Redgrove says about 68,000 are actually eligible to vote.
