KAMLOOPS — A call for wellness led to a heavy police presence on Kamloops’s North Shore yesterday evening.
Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Mat Van Laer says in a news release that officers were called at around 6:00 p.m. last night, Oct. 18, to the area of Edward Street to check on the well being of an individual.
It was reported that weapons could be present, so police responded in heavy numbers, and with caution, Van Laer says.
The incident was quickly resolved once officers confirmed the person was well, that no offences were committed, and there was no danger to the public.
