Blazers snap skid, wrangle Broncos
KAMLOOPS — 16-year old rookie Josh Pillar scored his first Western Hockey League goal at 16:48 of the 3rd period to snap a 3-3 tie and send the Blazers on their way to a 5-3 win over the Swift Current Broncos.
15-year old Logan Stankoven, on a one-game call-up, set up the winning goal for his first career point and with speed and vision was a threat every time he was on the ice.
Despite outshooting Swift Current 16-3 in the first period, Kamloops trailed 1-0 after Alec Zawatsky scored on the Broncos first shot.
Connor Zary on the power play drew the Blazers even early in the second.
