Remembrance Day ceremonies taking place around Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Canadians all across the country will take a moment today to reflect on conflicts throughout history, and to remember the end of the First World War 100 year ago.

In Kamloops, the city’s annual Remembrance Day Ceremony and Parade will be starting at 10:30 am this morning from Riverside Park. 

The service will be conducted by Reverend Sandra Sugden, Padre to the Royal Canadian Legion, along with Capt. Steve Filyk, Padre to the Rocky Mountain Rangers. 

The program:

10:45 am: Mounting of Cenotaph Guard

10:52 am: March on Colour Party

10:58 am: O Canada!

10:59 am: Last Post

11:00 am: Two-Minute Silence

11:02 am: Lament

11:04 am: Fly Past – 419 Squadron, Cold Lake Alberta

11:05 am: Reveille

Act of Remembrance

11:06 am: Prayers & Laying of Wreaths

God Save the Queen

Parade leaves the park around 11:25 a.m. to 11:35 a.m.

4:20 pm: Bells of Peace. Churches around the city, and Canada ring their bells 100 times to commemorate the armistice.

 

The Tk’emlups ceremony will also be taking place this morning at 10:30 am, at St. Joseph’s Church and Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc Cemetery, located at 200 Chilcotin Rd.
