Canadian Chamber of Commerce backs Kamloops bid for improvements at CRA call centres
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops and District Chamber of Commerce now has national backing in its push to improve service interactions with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
It comes as a report by the Auditor General of Canada last October found that a majority of people who contacted the CRA were not given accurate information, and Kamloops Chamber executive director Acacia Pangilinan said that is unacceptable.
“It ends up costing hundreds of thousands of dollars for business to sometimes even get the wrong information and have to go back and do it all over again,” Pangilinan told CFJC. “We’d heard from one of our members who said it cost them around $16,000 over the span of a year of just incorrect information.”
