Figure skating legend Tonya Harding is lacing up her skates again at 55. Harding will headline “Tonya & Friends,” a public skating show set for December 12 at Mountain View Ice Arena in Vancouver, Washington. She told KOIN 6 News she has been skating twice weekly, working on jumps, spins, and harness training with coach Dody Teachman. “The love of skating is the reason why I’ve always come back,” Harding said. “I just can’t walk away from it.” Harding became the first woman to land a triple axel in competition at the 1991 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. She was later banned from U.S. Figure Skating for life following her role in the 1994 attack on competitor Nancy Kerrigan.
