TNRD to host free chipping day in Lac Le Jeune, Walloper Lake area
LAK LE JEUNE, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) will be hosting a free chipping day on Monday, November 9 for residents in the Lac Le Jeune and Walloper Lake areas.
The TNRD said residents who want to take advantage of the program are asked to place debris at the end of the driveway the night before pickup, stack wood with butt ends facing the road, and ensure brush is clean and free of dirt and rocks.
Officials note thar woody debris is limited to a maximum of about five inches in diameter.
“TNRD FireSmart free chipping day events support rural property owners in reducing wildfire fuels on their property by clearing out brush, branches, deadfall and trimmings,” said the TNRD.
