The Backstreet Boys are joining the Global Gaming League, competing under the name Backstreet Gamers alongside other celebrity-owned teams. The four-member squad will face opponents across multiple game formats, including Call of Duty, Rocket League, Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong. “We’ve spent our careers performing together. Now we’re building a team to compete together,” said Nick Carter. “We’re coming into this to win.” GGL founder and CEO Clinton Sparks added that fans could potentially earn a roster spot, saying “someone playing in their bedroom today could end up competing for Backstreet Gamers on a global stage.” Artists T-Pain, Ne-Yo, and Flavor Flav have already launched their own GGL teams. Ne-Yo’s Gentleman’s Gaming previously defeated T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Grizzlies at the league’s Season Zero launch event in Las Vegas.
