Kim Kardashian Undergoes Esophagus Surgery Over ‘Irregularities’

Kim Kardashian has undergone a medical procedure after doctors found irregularities in her throat requiring removal. A preview for an upcoming episode of The Kardashians shows the 46-year-old in a hospital bed. “The doctor says my esophagus has these irregularities, and I have to have them cut out. It’s the same thing my dad had,” she said. Her father, Robert Kardashian, died of esophageal cancer in 2003 at age 59. During this week’s episode, Kim was diagnosed with esophagitis, defined by the NIH as “inflammation or injury to the esophageal mucosa.” She admitted keeping her diagnosis private, saying it wasn’t something she wanted to discuss.
