Environment Canada warns of ‘pockets of heavy snow’ in B.C. Interior
KAMLOOPS — Parts of the British Columbia Interior are set to see their first significant snowfall at lower elevations this season.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement covering Kamloops, 100 Mile House and parts of the Thompson and Chilcotin regions, warning of “very localized pockets of heavy snow” starting late Tuesday.
The weather forecast agency is predicting up to 10 centimetres of accumulation in some areas, with snow levels rapidly falling as low as 600 metres.
The statement says the snowfall is triggered by a low-pressure, unstable air mass over the region, and pockets of heavy snow will make for possible sudden changes in visibility for motorists.
