Chris Brown has received a suspended jail sentence for a 2023 assault at a London nightclub. Brown was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay a £1,500 ($2,000 USD) fine. On February 19, 2023, Brown and co-defendant Omololu “Hoody Baby” Akinlolu attacked music producer Abe Diaw, with Brown allegedly using a tequila bottle as a weapon. Brown pleaded guilty in July 2025 to “affray,” a charge of public fighting. His lawyer, Sallie Bennett-Jenkins KC, described the incident as “ugly and unattractive” and said Brown offered “a profound apology to all those present.” Brown’s joint North American tour with Usher resumes November 5 at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
