MADD Kamloops unveils new Campaign 911 signs to combat impaired driving
KAMLOOPS — MADD Kamloops, the City of Kamloops and the Kamloops RCMP are installing several signs throughout the city encouraging the public to call 911 and report suspected impaired driving.
MADD Canada said its Campaign 911 is meant to encourage the public to help make roads safer by reporting suspected impaired drivers to police before a potentially deadly crash could happen.
In Kamloops, the local MADD branch is installing 10 ‘Campaign 911 – Report Impaired Drivers’ signs at various locations around the city to inform pedestrians and drivers.
“If you suspect a driver is impaired or observe unsafe driving report it,” said Cpl. Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. “When safe to do so, call 911 and report what you saw and let police officers assess the situation.”
