Blazers’ point streak ends at six following back-and-forth loss to Wild
KAMLOOPS — It was a tale of three games in one for the Kamloops Blazers in their 5-4 loss on the road to the Wenatchee Wild Sunday (Oct. 25).
Trailing 2-0 after the first period, the Blazers scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead in the second. Cooper Moore stole a clearing attempt off the boards and fired a wrist shot from the slot, Vit Zahejsky converted with a slap shot on a 5-on-3 power play and Ty Bonkowski stole the puck from the Blazers blue line to score on a power play.
However, the Blazers gave the Wild life and surrendered the 3-3 goal with just under three minutes to play in the second. The Wild would score twice within the first two minutes of the third to take a 5-3 lead. Former Blazer Ty Coupland scored his second goal in three games since being traded to the Wild.
Zahejsky would give the Blazers life late in the third period. The Czech forward scored his second goal of the game with a wrist shot from the slot.
