BC Transit offering free rides on provincial election day Saturday

KAMLOOPS — Bus riders in Kamloops and many other cities in B.C. can take advantage of free transit on Saturday (Oct. 24), allowing voters to more easily cast their ballots in the provincial election.

BC Transit said its buses and handyDART services will be free in Kamloops, Merritt, Vernon and Williams Lake for the day, with a full list of communities offering free transit here.

“BC Transit and participating local government partners across the province will offer transit free of charge on Saturday, October 24, 2026,” said a statement from BC Transit.

“Decisions to provide free transit are made by local government partners in participating communities.”
