Cariboo-Chilcotin sees possible premier seek re-election
KAMLOOPS — The Cariboo-Chilcotin riding stretches from Williams Lake, 100 Mile House and Clinton all the way down to the west of Kamloops past Tobiano.
It’s considered a safe conservative riding and could be home to the premier if the Tories are successful on Saturday (Oct 24) night with incumbent and interim leader Lorne Doerkson seeking re-election. He’ll be going up against the NDP’s Kathryn Askew and Green candidate Douglas Gook.
Two years ago Lorne Doerkson walked his way to Victoria, securing 69 per cent of the vote to become a two term MLA. He’s spent the last month campaigning across the province as conservative interim leader.
