Blazers continue heating up, shut out Americans 4-0

Oct 22, 2026 | 6:19 AM

KAMLOOPS — Goaltender Logan Edmonstone stopped all 22 shots he faced as the Kamloops Blazers shut out the Tri-City Americans 4-0 from Sandman Centre Wednesday (Oct. 21) night.

Defenceman Isa Guram opened the scoring with a shot from atop the left circle in the back half of the first period. After the Americans received a delay of game penalty following an unsuccessful coach’s challenge for offside, Cooper Moore put back a rebound on the ensuing power play to give the Blazers a 2-0 lead after the first period.

A different Cooper would continue the Blazers’ momentum early in the second period. Mikhail Cherepanov set up Owen Cooper with a pass from behind his back on the rush to extend the Blazers’ lead to 3-0.

Eli Tverdovsky continued his recent hot stretch in the third period. The former sixth overall pick in the 2024 Western Hockey League (WHL) U.S. Prospect Draft cut to the net and scored his third goal and fifth point in five games. The Blazers never let go of their 4-0 lead.

The Blazers improve to 6-3-2-0 on the 2026-27 WHL season, good for 14 points in 11 games. They’ve earned points in five straight games and won four of their last five. The Blazers sit third in the WHL Western Conference and second in the B.C. Division, trailing the Vancouver Giants by four points.

The Blazers welcome those Giants to Sandman Centre Friday (Oct. 23) at 7:00 p.m.
