Christina Applegate has revealed she does not have multiple sclerosis, despite being diagnosed in 2021. She made the announcement on her podcast MeSsy, alongside friend and fellow actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler. “I’m back at square one — I don’t know what’s going on with me,” Applegate said through tears. She had become a prominent MS advocate and published a memoir about her experience. Applegate retired from acting following her diagnosis, wrapping up her role on Dead To Me. Despite the new finding, her MS-like symptoms persist. A 2024 Swiss-led study found a 15% MS misdiagnosis rate. “There’s a pretty damn high number,” Applegate said. Her doctors are now investigating what has caused her symptoms since 2021.
