Lawrence acclaimed to Clinton council joining incumbent mayor Stanke, three councillors

CLINTON, B.C. — There was no election in the Village of Clinton Saturday (Oct. 17) night, as mayor and council was all acclaimed to office.

Roland Stanke will return for his fifth term as mayor of Clinton. A long-time resident of the village, Stanke was mayor for three terms between 2002 and 2011 and was then re-elected in 2022 after 11 years out of office.

Stanke also served one term as a councillor between 1999 and 2002.

He’ll be joined by three incumbents – Sandi Burrage, Darrell Schpansky and Nicholas Kosovic and newcomer Jessica Lawrence, who filed her paperwork after the nomination period was extended due to insufficient candidates.
