Former mayor hopes for higher turnout as Kamloopsians flock to vote in advance polls
KAMLOOPS — It was another busy Wednesday (Oct. 14) at polling stations in Kamloops, as voters cast ballots during the third and final day of advance polls ahead of this Saturday’s (Oct. 17) election.
There was a healthy lineup outside Heritage House when CFJC Today stopped by around 10:45 a.m., a lineup that was similar to the first day of advance polls last week. The city is expected to release advance poll numbers on Thursday, but results will remain confidential until the polls close on election day.
Anecdotal information posted to social media seems to indicate a strong voter turnout, and former Kamloops mayor and MLA Terry Lake told CFJC Today he also believes it’s possible overall voter turnout could be higher than the last election four years ago.
