Tower crane installation at Centre for the Arts project site to cause minor traffic impacts
KAMLOOPS — A new nearly 50 metre tall crane is set to soar over downtown Kamloops after the Thanksgiving long weekend as work on the Kamloops Centre for the Arts moves into its next phase.
In a statement, the city says the tower crane that will help the facility rise from the ground will arrive next week, and there will be some temporary impacts to traffic on Seymour Street while crews work to put it in place.
On Tuesday (Oct. 13) next week, a mobile crane will arrive on site near the intersection of Seymour Street and Fourth Avenue. It will be positioned within the excavation area – the former Kamloops Daily News site – to prepare for the tower crane installation.
On Wednesday, the city says the 47.5 metre tower crane will be assembled and installed.
