June 7, 1932 – September 26, 2026 

It’s time to celebrate the absolutely fantastic, positive, loving life that Marjorie Marie Chaben (known as the Hugger) lived to her fullest for an amazing 94 years that we were all so blessed and lucky to be a part of. 

Mom was predeceased by her husband Art whom she carried on the deepest and most genuine love affair that truly lasted their entire lifetimes. 

She is survived by her two boys; Dean (Pat) and Kevin (Judy); grandkids Brock (Ally), Natalie (Nik) and Mark; great-grandkids Rowan (The Rowanator), Mara and Isabel (Izzy); sister-in-law Pat Buckland and many nieces and nephews who loved her too. 

Mom was always so friendly, happy and positive with everyone she met, and always showed tremendous interest in what was going on in “your” life. She simply oozed positivity, enthusiasm and sincere loving nature that she was sent into this world with. 

She passed away on September 26 of natural causes at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops. 

The family wants to thank the excellent care from all the nurses and care-aids that attended to all her needs at the end of life. 

We had a good chuckle when we heard they playfully named her ” Momma Chabe’s.” Our family thanks you tremendously for being so attentive to mom’s needs right to her final breath. In the end, there are two thoughts that come to mind. Here’s to a life very well lived and boy oh boy were we ever Lucky to have had her as a mom and for as long as we did. Mom will be cremated and her ashes scattered with her husband’s ashes as per her wishes.
