May 10, 1953 – September 18, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roanda Lorain Heye, who passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on May 10, 1953, in Prince George, B.C., Roanda spent her life building a beautiful family, travelling the world and creating memories that will be treasured forever. She will be remembered for her spunky sense of humor, her fierce desire to help others, her selfless sense of kindness and the pure love she had for her family. Roanda was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who took great pride in her children and grandchildren.
After a fulfilling career as a social worker, Roanda devoted her retirement days to enjoying the smaller things in life; swimming, books, baking, her faith, friends and family. Roanda’s happiest days were spent with her grandbabies or swimming at the lake, with her beloved dog by her side. Roanda was a social butterfly and well known in the Oliver community for her wonderful conversations, and her genuine ability to listen, if she could hear you that is. She had a way of making people feel included and comfortable and made friends wherever she went.
Roanda spent many of her days in God’s presence. Her faith in God was at the heart of who she was, and her love for Him reflected in the way she loved and cared for others. She found peace in knowing that her faith would carry her home, and she now rests in the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour.
Roanda will be lovingly remembered by her children Naomi, Megan and Theodore (Brittani) and her grandchildren Bri, Shirley, Marcy and Aubrey. As well as her three brothers Daniel, Bill and Robin, and many other extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Roxanna, her father Robert and her mother Joan. Those who knew Roanda will remember her by her compassion, caring nature and generosity. Her love, laughter and presence will be deeply missed, but the memories Roanda created with her loving friends and family will live on and never be forgotten.
A funeral will be held on October 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Kamloops. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Treasures of God Children’s Home charity, if desired. http://Www.cten.org/naomiheye
