Man arrested in 100 Mile after reportedly driving while impaired, assaulting officer with ‘bodily fluids’

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A man near 100 Mile House faces multiple charges and had his ATV impounded after reportedly driving under the influence and assaulting a police officer. 

On Sept. 18, 100 Mile House RCMP say they were told of a disturbance at a home on Mercer Road. While en route to the home, police say the man was seen speeding on Horse Lake Road and Cedar Avenue before stopping in a flower garden at 100 Mile House District General Hospital. 

After being assessed by medical staff, RCMP say the man was arrested for driving while prohibited and driving while impaired. During the arrest, police say the man assaulted an officer with “bodily substances.” 

“The man was restrained and brought to the Vanderhoof RCMP Detachment where he refused to provide a sample of his breath for testing,” 100 Mile House RCMP state in a news release issued Wednesday (Sept. 23).
