Taylor Swift To Receive Inaugural Artist Director Honors At 2026 VMAs

Taylor Swift will become the first recipient of the new Artist Director Honors at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, airing September 27 from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. The award recognizes artists whose directorial work has advanced visual storytelling in music video. Swift made her solo directing debut with “The Man” in 2020, winning best direction that year. She currently holds 30 Moon Persons and is a four-time VMAs best direction winner. Swift enters this year’s ceremony with 11 nominations, second only to Madonna’s record 13. Nirvana will receive the Video Vanguard Award. Snoop Dogg hosts the live broadcast on CBS, MTV, and streaming on Paramount+
