‘I believe in a Kamloops for everyone’: Unger launches bid for city council seat
KAMLOOPS — You’ve seen him at the Farmers Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but Greg Unger is hoping to also spend his Tuesdays at Kamloops City Hall.
Unger has called Kamloops home since 2017, and this is the first time he’s run for political office. Among his campaign platforms are more affordable housing, better transit, improved food security, a vibrant arts and culture scene as well as more citizen engagement.
“I think something we should try is citizen assemblies which allow people to come out and make themselves heard,” Unger said. “It doesn’t have to bog down council meetings. It can be separate from council meetings, but they are ways for people to be heard.”
