After decade of contemplation, Winston joins Kamloops mayoral race
KAMLOOPS — Six candidates are set to contest the mayor’s chair in Kamloops this October, after two late additions to the ballot on Friday afternoon (Sept. 11). One of the newest names looking to secure support is Ivory Winston, who is running his first campaign for public office.
Even after 10 years of contemplation, it was indeed an 11th-hour decision from Winston to seek the mayor’s office in Kamloops.
“‘What’s it going to take?’ somebody challenged me Friday morning,” Winston told CFJC News. “You know what, why not today? Why not take a step, right? And see what happens. What do I have to lose?”
